@Bobby,

A lot of strategies can work, but I don't bet the farm on a particular type of backlink. In other words, diversity, as you point out, is required.

On the other hand, there's an exception to every rule. Sean Mize, for example, has had success with using Ezinearticles.com. But, according to his own account, he has submitted thousands of articles (now over 24,000 -- I just checked) and spends hundreds of dollars a month having people write articles for him. And, he doesn't get that much traffic from it, he just has a business model that produces high returns.

For a new site, I would suggest... (I'm assuming that you're building a content site and that you'd create 20 or so pages before doing any promotion.)

In addition to the usual directory submissions, that you create 10 to 20 articles and submit to Buzzle, Ezinearticles.com, Article City, and a few others. You can syndicate two or three via Isnare as well, but I would suggest no more than that for a new site. Buzzle needs to be first or unique, and I would repurpose the articles for Hubpages, American Chronicle, and Squidoo.

Do your usual social bookmarking and also create a Facebook page for the site and syndicate your RSS feed through it. That's a simplified version of a pretty good start and gives you a bit of diversity as well as access to readership immediately. Let that link building bake in and go back to adding more pages to the site. Then, you can add in UAW or SubmitYourArticle or whatever syndication service you like.

As for blog commenting...

Many times the "gurus" who talk about using blog commenting successfully don't tell you that they either hire people to do it for them, or they use software to comment on thousands of blogs. That way, some will get approved, some will not, some will pass PR, some will not, but all in all, they end up with hundreds or thousands of links more than you ever could doing it by yourself. They also throttle it, so they spread out the links over time.

Hi there,

I've been considering unique article wizard for some time now. The only thing is I had it recomended as an addition to a backlink builder through blog commenting using syntax. Just wondering if UAW is effective as a stand alone product or if it needs to be backed up a bit with varying backlinks coming to the site. I know for SEO purposes the mixture is a must but to take a new site using only UAW to start, get ranked, then use the revenue to further add to the mix to secure top rankings. Is that realistic?

@cheap garden sheds,

The jewelry site no longer exists. I was promoting that site for someone else (although I owned the domain name at the time), and she decided to stop using the Web and only market her work locally through shows. UAW continues to deliver.

Hi Kurt,
I’ve been reading your article in UAW and you talk about http://www.magnetic-jewelry-connection.com/ being near the top of Google for the keyword - magnetic jewelry connection. This is not the case when I search that keyword! In fact the site doesn’t even exist. Are you still of the opinion you had when you wrote that article or have you moved on to others things?

Hi there, I'm currently using jetsubmitter and wanted to see of it's still worth it to switch to Unique article wizard, which is more expensive.

Hi Kurt

Are you still satisfied with the results you get from Unique Article Wizard?

Is UAW web based so I don't need to download software?

If yes, please send me your link to join UAW.

thanks

Will
